Brockton Rox News Release

Little Falls, NJ - Juan Tejeda and Chris Kelly both went yard as the New Jersey Jackals took the final game of a four-game series with an 8-3 victory over the Brockton Rox. LHP Isaac Pavlik held the Rox to only three runs in six innings to earn his fourth win of the season.

Tejeda hit his sixth home run in the third inning to give the Jackals a 3-1 lead. The Rox tied the game with two runs in the fifth inning before Kelly's two-run blast off Rox RHP Ryan Williams put New Jersey ahead for good.

Williams made his first appearance of the season in relief of Rox starter Chris McDonough. The 23-year-old McDonough allowed three runs off eight hits in four innings. Relievers James Baker and Matt Zachary also pitched out of the bullpen and held the Jackals scoreless in the final three frames.

1B Francisco Lebron gave the Rox an early 1-0 lead in the second inning with an RBI double. Lebron has four RBIs in the last five games. 2B Melvin Falu and OF Vic Davilla also added RBIs in the fifth inning to round out the Rox scoring.

The Rox head to Worcester to face the Tornadoes in the first game of a three-game set on Monday night to begin the second half of the season. RHP John Kelly (3-3, 1.46 ERA) will face Worcester RHP Junior Guerrero (3-3, 6.58 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
