IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals play the Kalamazoo Wings for the first time since March 28, 2007, when the two teams were in the UHL, at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday night at First Arena.

On Friday night, the Jackals earned a 5-4 overtime victory over the Johnstown Chiefs. Olivier Proulx redirected R.J. Anderson's shot at 1:53 of the extra session to give Elmira its 14th win in 17 games.

The K-Wings are coming off of a 6-3 win in Reading against the Royals on Thursday.

The home overtime victory for the Jackals was the first since Wes Cunningham scored in extra time at First Arena on Oct. 31, 2008 to defeat the Idaho Steelheads.

ANDERSON ANSWERS THE CALL

R.J. Anderson gave it to his former team last night with a goal and two assists. His goal came at 16:44 of the second period to give the Jackals a 4-3 lead, while his two assists directly contributed to goals, with a couple of shots that were redirected by Chris Korchinski and Proulx in front. Anderson is tied for second in the league among rookie defensemen with 35 points.

SCORING RECORD REAL CLOSE

Tyler Donati, currently on a league-leading 17-game scoring streak, is four points away from tying Randy Murphy's Jackals single-season record of 93 points. Donati tops the ECHL with 57 assists and 89 points.
