Missouri River Otters News Release

Nick Boucher sparkled in net as the Elmira Jackals completed a weekend sweep of the Missouri River Otters with a 4-1 victory Saturday night in front of 3,697 fans at the Family Arena.

The lone goal in the first period came on a shot from the point by Jackals defenseman Bobby Gates that beat Brenden Cuthbert high to the glove side. The Jackals got off to a fast start in the second period, getting goals from Chris Mann and Jarrett Konkle to take a 3-0 lead. The River Otters finally broke through towards the end of the second period when Brad MacMillan deflected a Mark Odut shot behind Boucher. Jason Sessa added a third-period empty netter to seal the deal for the Jackals. Boucher made 23 saves in the victory while Cuthbert made 23 saves in defeat.

The River Otters travel to the Quad Cities to take on the Mallards Sunday afternoon at the MARK. The puck drops at 1:00 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
