Jackals Collect 20 Hits in Matinee Win over Boulders

New Jersey jumped out to an 8-2 lead after three innings of play and would cruise from there to a 14-9 victory over Rockland.

The Jackals pounded out 20 hits in the contest with six batters having multi-hit games. New Jersey LF Alfredo Marte (pictured) had a terrific day going 5-for-6 with a home run and five RBIs. Jackals 2B Nelson Ward and SS Santiago Chirino each collected three hits and three runs while 1B Conrad Gregor had a pair of hits in four at-bats along with three runs scored and an RBI.

New Jersey pitcher Ismael Cabrera tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief and picked-up the win. The righty gave up two earned runs on two hits with a strikeout. With the victory, Cabrera is now 3-1 on the year.

For Rockland in the losing effort, LF Grant Heyman went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and an RBI.
