El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Albuquerque Isotopes closed the series with a 16-1 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Thursday afternoon at Isotopes Park. It was the most lopsided loss in Chihuahuas' history.

Luis Urias went 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored El Paso's lone run in the top of the fourth on an Albuquerque double play, one of five double plays for the Isotopes, which was the most the Chihuahuas have hit into in a game this season. Albuquerque's 19 hits were the most allowed by the Chihuahuas in a 2018 game.

San Diego Padres pitcher Jordan Lyles allowed four runs in 2.2 innings in an MLB injury rehab start Thursday. El Paso used position players Diego Goris and Brett Nicholas as pitchers in the bottom of the eighth and Albuquerque scored seven runs, tying the Chihuahuas mark for most runs allowed in an inning this season.

The Chihuahuas' leadoff batter reached base in seven of the nine innings Thursday. The two teams split the four-game series.
