
Isotopes Fall to Chihuahuas, 14-7

Albuquerque, NM - El Paso tallied six runs in the seventh frame and mashed 16 hits en route to a 14-7 victory in game two over Albuquerque Wednesday night at Isotopes Park.
Offensively, the Isotopes recorded 10 hits, three homers, one triple and two doubles. Sean Bouchard swatted two homers and drove in three RBI. Ryan Vilade registered two RBI on the night. D.J. Peterson smacked his sixth homer of the season, a solo shot. Wynton Bernard and Bouchard each recorded multi-hit efforts.
Brandon Gold took the loss after surrendering six runs, five earned, over 5.0 innings.
The Isotopes plated the game's first run in the opening frame. Bernard singled and advanced to third on a two-base throwing error by the pitcher. Vilade then lifted a ball to the left field wall for a sac fly. However, El Paso went on to score three unanswered runs over the second and third innings to take a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom of the third, Bouchard connected on a two-run clout to tie the game at 3-3. The Chihuahuas scored in their third-straight frame on a solo homer from Esteury Ruiz and a two-run dinger from Kyle Martin, taking a 6-3 advantage.
Albuquerque got two back in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Vilade and a Coco Montes RBI double. El Paso then scored six runs in the seventh inning. Bouchard added his second home run of the game in the home half of the seventh.
The Chihuahuas tallied one more in the eighth on an Eguy Rosario solo shot. Peterson smacked his sixth homer of the year, a solo shot, in the bottom of the eighth to cap the scoring.
Topes Scope: - The 14 runs surrendered tied for the second-most (four times, last: May 28 vs. Round Rock) allowed by the Isotopes this season.
-The Isotopes allowed 16 hits on the night, the seventh time they've relented 15-plus in a contest.
-El Paso plated six runs in the seventh inning, the fourth time they've allowed six-runs in a frame (last: May 31 at Sugar Land.
-Albuquerque blasted three home runs on the night, extending their season-high home run streak 12-straight games.
-The Isotopes plated one run in the first inning, bringing their season total to 51-the second-most runs scored in an inning.
-Bouchard tallied the fourth multi-homer game of the season, and second in-a-row for the Isotopes. It was his first since Aug. 21, 2021, with Double-A Hartford-third of his career. He also extended his on-base streak to 19 games and tallied his 11th multi-hit effort and third three RBI game.
-Pérez extended his team-leading on-base streak to 22 games with a one hit.
-Bernard tallied his team-leading 17th multi-hit effort with a single and triple. He has four triples on the year, which is tied for second in the PCL.
-Vilade extended his on-base streak to 20 with a single.
-Gold allowed a season-high three homers and six runs.
-Peterson tallied his second homer in his last three games, 11-at-bats.
On Deck: The series finale is set for 6:05 pm MT at Isotopes Park. The Isotopes are expected to send Zach Neal while JP France is slated to start for the Space Cowboys.
