Clearwater, FL - The Daytona Tortugas (4-2, 40-35) tossed their seventh shutout of the year, blanking the Clearwater Threshers (4-2, 43-31), 3-0, Tuesday night at Bright House Field. It's the fourth consecutive series win for Daytona and first against Clearwater. Ty Washington homered for the first time, while Tanner Rahier and Garrett Boulware each drove in a run.

For the fourth consecutive game, Daytona's surging offense cracked the scoreboard first. In the top of the third inning, Ty Washington blasted his first career Tortuga homerun into the Clearwater bullpen in left field for the 1-0 lead.

The Tortugas struck again in the fifth inning. Arisitdes Aquino led the inning off with a double, extended his hitting streak to a season-best 15 games. Rahier followed with a single down the first base line to score Aquino and double Daytona's lead, 2-0. It was Rahier's third RBI in his first four games with the Tortugas.

Daytona's offense was at it again in the seventh. Ty Washington reached on a one-out walk, stole second, and advanced to third on an errant throw by Clearwater's catcher, Austin Bossart, to set the table. Boulware followed with a double to left to plate Washington and make it a 3-0 game. It was Boulware's fourth straight game with an RBI.

LHP Ismael Guillon (2-2) notched his first win as a starter with Daytona, working six innings of scoreless ball while allowing three hits and striking out six. RHP John Richy (2-3) suffered the loss, as he worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on seven hits. RHP Jimmy Herget closed the game in the ninth to earn his league-high 14th save in as many chances.

Daytona heads to Brevard County Wednesday to resume their I-95 rivalry with the Manatees. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM. RHP Tejay Antone (6-4, 4.03 ERA) will start for Daytona while Brevard Country has yet to name their starter. The Chili's pre-game show will begin at 6:50 PM on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB.

Notes: The Tortugas have won 11 of their last 14 games... It was the first shutout win for Daytona since 6/13, when Tyler Mahle no-hit Jupiter... Guillon lasted six innings for the first time since 7/31/14. It was also his first win as a starter since August, 2014...Ty Washington hit his first home run in 71 games and stole his first base in 69 games, both firsts in his Tortugas career.
