Islanders Assign Colliton to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Jeremy Colliton has cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Colliton, 26, was placed on injured reserve after the Islanders first preseason game at Boston in September. The Blackie, AB native is the Sound Tigers all-time leading scorer and is currently tied for the team's all-time assists record. Colliton joins the Sound Tigers in Glens Falls, N.Y. and could make his 2011-12 debut against the Adirondack Phantoms tonight.

The 6'2", 214-pound forward enters his sixth season with the team and is currently third in games played all-time. Last year, Colliton recorded 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 53 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as two goals and an assist in 15 games with the New York Islanders.
