Islanders Announce 2020 Training Camp Roster

The 2020-2021 season slowly inches closer, and the Charlottetown Islanders have officially announced their roster for the 2020 Training Camp, presented by ADL.

17 forwards, 11 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders will all attend camp as they attempt to crack the 2020-2021 roster. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, teams could only invite a maximum of 34 players to camp. Of those players invited by Charlottetown five were selected in the 2020 QMJHL Draft.

Charlottetown's top pick in the 2020 draft, Sam Oliver, will be in attendance as camp begins. Jakub Brabenec and Matous Mensik, both selected by the Islanders in the 2020 CHL Import Draft, will attend camp following their approved arrival in Canada and a 14-day self-quarantine period.

One undrafted free agent was invited to camp this year; Ryan Maynard (2002-07-25) is a 6'3 defender who spent last season with the Kapuskasing Flyers (GNML). Maynard finished eighth among all skaters in the league with 47 points in 36 games.

The ADL 2020 Charlottetown Islanders Training Camp begins Sunday, August 30th at the MacLauchlan Arena at UPEI. Our first exhibition game takes place on Tuesday, September 1st in Moncton against the Wildcats. Our first home exhibition game takes place Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00pm against the Moncton Wildcats.
