Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Thursday that a longtime anchor of the team's offensive line has returned to the squad, as Isaac Morales has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 30-year-old Morales (6'6", 325) is set to begin his fifth season with the Sharks and in the Arena Football League. Morales has been a fixture along the Sharks' offensive line throughout his career, starting 57 games at guard over the last four seasons. Most recently, Morales started all but one game for the Sharks during the 2013 season.
In 2011, Morales was a key piece of a Jacksonville pass-protection unit that allowed just 12 sacks over the course of the entire season. Morales started every one of the Sharks' games in both 2010 and 2011. In addition to his primary duties as a pass protector, Morales has also logged four receptions for 31 yards and three touchdowns over the course of his career.
When Morales takes the field, he will become the third player to suit up for the Sharks in each of the franchise's five seasons, joining wide receiver Jeron Harvey and defensive back Micheaux Robinson.
Prior to joining the Sharks, Morales attended the University of Wyoming, where he was a teammate of Sharks Mac linebacker Aaron Robbins. A native of Mexico, Morales attended Canyon High School in Canyon, Texas.
In another Thursday transaction, the Sharks announced that defensive lineman Thomas Mulabah has been placed on injured reserve.
