Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to bounce back against the Buffalo Bisons on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.

RHP Alec Asher (1-2, 3.20 in AA) will make his first start of the year for the Pigs on Saturday. Asher's last start with Double-A Reading came on Saturday vs. New Hampshire when he got a no-decision after allowing one run (none earned) on four hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in 7.2 IP. Over 4 GS with the IronPigs in 2015, the right-hander was 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

LHP Scott Diamond (2-1, 2.38) heads to the hill for the Bisons opposite Asher. Diamond received a no-decision on Sunday at Rochester when he gave up five hits while walking one and fanning four over six shutout innings. The southpaw has allowed one earned run or less in three of his four starts this season. In his career against the IronPigs, Diamond is 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA in 8 G (7 GS).

After notching a pair of hits on Friday night, Pigs OF Will Venable has now hit safely in eight of his last 12 games. In that time, Venable has hit .282-0-9 (11-39, 2 2B, 5 BB, SB).

The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive an IronPigs T-Shirt giveaway. There is also the Miracle League Game from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The IronPigs will wear commemorative Miracle League themed jerseys presented by Majestic Athletic and fans can bid from anywhere on these autographed, game-worn jerseys. Proceeds benefit the Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley. More information on the jersey auction and bidding process will be made available on Friday, April 29.
