Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (48-35) play Game One of a three-game series* against the third-place Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (46-38) at Coca-Cola Park (*which will be followed by a two-game series with SWB as the "home" team)... With a doubleheader sweep (8-5, 2-1) of Pawtucket on Sunday, the Pigs took the three-game series against the Paw Sox and now have a 2.0-game lead in the North Division. The Pigs are now 5-2 on the homestand and have gone 16-9 in their last 25 games to erase a 4.5-game deficit... The Yankees -- New York's top affiliate -- lost 5-3 at Rochester last night to split a road series and snap a five-game losing streak. Prior to going 5-1 in their last six games, the Yanks had gone 1-7 on a West Division road trip. They've been as many as 6.5 GB (5/15-16).

Tonight's game features a post-game Fireworks show, presented by Pennsylvania Lottery... First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m...

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE!:

Yesterday, the Pigs swept a "Day-Night" Doubleheader from PAW by scores of 8-5, 2-1 -- marking their fourth all-time DH sweep in 23 tries and just their first since 9/4/09 vs. BUF (they had none in their last 13 DH)... LHV had split its prior 3 DH this season and now has a record of 5-3 in DH games in 2012 (2-0 in nine-inning DH games)... Last season, the Pigs managed just a 5-9 record in DH games -- getting swept in two... The Pigs have gone just 18-28 all-time in DH games (2-2 in "Day-Night" DH games).
