IronPigs Game Notes

May 22, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (26-18) play the finale of a four-game series against the last-place Louisville Bats (15-31) at Coca-Cola Park... With a walk-off, 7-6 win in 13 innings last night, the Pigs snapped their two-game skid and clinched a winning homestand (5-2). The Pigs have won six of their last eight games and are 9-3 in their last 12 contests... The Bats -- Cincinnati's top affiliate -- snapped their two-game winning "streak" and failed in their bid to win three straight contests for the first time this season and for the first time since a five-game winning streak August 14-18, 2011. Just 6-17 in their last 23 contests, the Bats entered last night's game with the fifth-worst record in MiLB (Rome, 9-32; West Virginia, 13-30; Stockton, 13-30; Tucson, 14-29).

RHP Dave Bush (3-3, 3.30) will start for LHV against RHP Brett Tomko (0-4, 3.48).

Today is Education Day #3, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network. First-Pitch is at 10:35 a.m... Following today's game, the Pigs will have Wednesday off before starting an eight-game South Division road trip with Game One in Charlotte on Thursday.

WALK THIS WAY!:

The 7-6 win last night on the game-winning HR by SS Andres Blanco marked the Pigs' 3rd walk-off winner of 2012 (4/24 vs. BUF; 5-2 vs. CHA)... They had a franchise-record 7 in 2011 (then 1 more in postseason) and now have 22 walk-off victories all-time.

* It was also their 5th walk-off HR all-time (Jon Knott, 5/9/08; Cody Ransom, 9/5/10; John Mayberry, 6/9/11; Cody Overbeck, 8/13/11).
