Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The fifth-place IronPigs (43-58) play Game Three of a four-game series against the third-place Norfolk Tides (48-54) -- Baltimore's top affiliate. With a 6-4 win last night, the 'Pigs snapped their four-game losing streak against Norfolk and have now won six of their last eight contests overall. Lehigh Valley has started 1-1 on this eight-game, South Division homestand... Norfolk snapped its (tied for) season-high, three-game winning streak -- failing in a sixth attempt to win four straight for the first time in 2010. Even so, the Tides have won six of their last nine affairs and are 17-13 since losing Game One of the series against the Pigs on June 21.
RHP Drew Carpenter (7-6, 3.41) will start for LHV against LHP Chris George (5-4, 4.07).
First-pitch tonight is at 5:35 p.m. for Youth T-shirt Night, presented by Capital BlueCross.
