Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (8-10) play Game Two of a four-game series at Frontier Field against the sixth-place Rochester Red Wings (7-12) -- the Twins' top affiliate. With a 6-3 last night, the 'Pigs improved to 2-2 on this (now) seven-game, Northern Division road trip... Meanwhile, the 'Wings had snapped a four-game losing streak Monday, but have now dropped five of their last six contests. Further, they are just 3-7 in their last 10 games...
LHP Joe Savery (0-1, 6.30) will start for Lehigh Valley against the newly-signed RHP Charlie Zink (6-15, 5.59 in '09), the former Pawtucket knuckle-baller who was honored as the 2008 IL Pitcher of the Year.
First-pitch this morning is at 11:35 a.m.
QUICK NOTES:
* At 8-10, the 'Pigs are still tied for their best start in franchise history through 18 games... After 18 games, LHV was also 8-10 in 2009 after going 2-16 in '08...
* With a win today, they'll have their best start (9-10) in young history.
