Iowa Energy Fall to the Canton Charge

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (13-16) fell 102-91 to the Canton Charge (17-13) Saturday Night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Energy were led by Alex Stepheson with 20 points and 16 rebounds. It was Stepheson's 21st double-double in the last 22 games. Joel Wright added 17 points and five rebounds. The Charge were led by Quinn Cook with 30 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Canton jumped out to an early five point to start the game. Iowa came back and then opened up a 12-point lead of their own. Terry Whisnant led the Energy with nine first quarter points. The Energy led 30-24 at the end of the first. 20 of Iowa's 30 points came in the paint. Iowa continued to control the game in the second quarter and went on to hold a 57-48 lead at halftime.

Iowa started the second half by extending their lead to 14 points. Canton then began to cut into Iowa's lead, outscoring the Energy 31-23 to trail by just one point at the end of the third. Iowa led 80-79 heading into the fourth. In the fourth, Canton's defense took over, holding Iowa's offense to just five points in the first seven minutes of the quarter. The Energy tried to put a run together, but were unable to and fell 102-91 to the Charge.

The Energy are home Tuesday for the Energy's seventh annual Education Celebration game. Over 5,000 school aged children from across Iowa will be in attendance.
