Iowa Energy Fall to Sioux Falls

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (16-19) fell 118-114 to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (28-7) Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Energy were led by Terry Whisnant and Patrick Christopher with 21 points. Andrew Harrison added 19 points and Memphis Grizzlies assignee Jarell Martin added 18 points. Bubu Palo led the Skyforce with a game-high 23 points.

Terry Whisnant got the Energy off to a quick start with 14 points in the first. Iowa opened up an early 10-point lead and held a 34-24 first quarter advantage. Christopher got hot in the second quarter for the Energy scoring 11 points to help the Energy extend their lead to 14 mid-way through the quarter. Whittington helped the Skyforce close the deficit down to four points at halftime. Iowa led 59-55 at halftime.

The Energy continued to control the game in the third. Christopher and Whisnant combined for 14 of the Energy's 25 third quarter points. Iowa would hold a seven-point advantage going into the final quarter. The Skyforce would take the lead for the first time mid-way through the fourth. From that point on, the teams would tie four times and exchange the lead two more times. It came down to the final minute where both teams held the lead. The Skyforce hit a late three-pointer to take the lead for good and held on to win despite the Energy's late attempts to tie the game. Sioux Falls outscored the Energy 35-24 in the fourth to go on to win 118-114.

The Energy hit the road for four games and return home again on March 6 at 3 p.m. for Faith and Family Night.
