Westchester Knicks News Release

FORT WAYNE - The Westchester Knicks (20-16), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, won on the road in Indiana tonight, beating the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants (15-20) by a score of 98-86.

An evenly matched start saw each team go up against each other by five, with both sides hitting seven of their field goal attempts to go with three free throws. Starting the game on a 6-2 run, the Mad Ants saw an early lead until the Knicks went on a 9-0 run of their own. Answering back with another run, this one 10-0, Fort Wayne squeaked out of the first with a one-point advantage.

Westchester got some help off the bench in the second, as NBA assignee Damien Inglis and newest Knick Ra'Shad James contributed eight points each. The Knicks put up a nine-point lead late in the quarter, but the Mad Ants hustled back to get within four, the score 45-41 heading into the half.

Despite gathering eight points in turnovers, the Mad Ants gave the same eight points back to the Knicks in the third quarter on five turnovers of their own. Westchester held on to the lead thanks to 61 percent shooting with five points of breathing room going into the final twelve minutes.

A big fourth quarter for the Knicks sealed the deal as 10 points from center Jordan Bachynski propelled the team to a 30 point quarter. Though Fort Wayne's John Lucas III supplied 10 points of his own, his team was unable to back him up, shooting 9-for-23. Westchester came away with a much-needed road win, the final score 98-86.

Jordan Bachynski paced the Knicks with 25 points and eight rebounds. Travis Trice II recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists while NBA assignee Damien Inglis notched one with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Appearing in his first game for Westchester, Ra'Shad James contributed 14 points off the bench.

John Lucas III finished with 21 points for the Mad Ants. CJ Fair just missed a double-double, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds. Walter Lemon Jr. came off the bench to supply 13 points, while Rakeem Christmas contributed 10.

The Westchester Knicks continue their road trip tomorrow, Feb. 26, with a 7:00 p.m. match-up against the Grand Rapids Drive, the Detroit Pistons affiliate. The game will be broadcast live on MSG 2 and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
