Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, IA, January 2, 2013 - The Iowa Energy announced today that they will partner with Goodwill of Des Moines as part of the Wells Fargo's "Big Assist" program.
The Wells Fargo Big Assist program is designed to help local non-profits maximize charitable contributions while providing an incredibly unique marketing opportunity.
"We are incredibly excited to team up with Goodwill as part of our Wells Fargo Big Assist program. I had the chance to tour the Goodwill facility and they are doing an amazing job of helping the people of Central Iowa," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris. "January 18th will be a fun night and our team is proud to wear the Goodwill logo on our jerseys as we do our part to help raise funds and awareness for this great cause."
The Energy will wear special Goodwill jerseys for their matchup on Saturday, January 18th vs the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The jerseys will be auctioned off during a silent auction that will occur during the game, along with a VIP auction item from one of the Energy's NBA affiliates.
Fans are encouraged to bring items to donate to Goodwill for the game. There will be a truck in the North parking lot that will be collecting items. Fans who donate will receive tickets to a future Iowa Energy game.
"We are excited to team up with the Iowa Energy and appreciate the opportunity to tell the community about our mission," commented Marlyn McKeen, President of Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa. "We are encouraging individuals to support Goodwill by attending the game and dropping off a donation in the North parking lot before the start of the game. We look forward to seeing you on January 18th as we strive to bring out the best in people!"
The first 500 fans through the doors will receive Goodwill hand clappers for use during the game.
You can purchase tickets at DahlsTickets.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office, or by calling 564-8550.
