Iowa Barnstormers Begin Building 2017 Roster

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed veteran offensive lineman D'Angelo McCray, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today. McCray is the first player to sign to the team's 2017 training camp roster.

McCray (6-5, 335, Memphis) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his fourth season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). McCray is an IFL veteran having spent two seasons with the Nebraska Danger (2013, 2014) where he saw two United Bowl Championship games and one season with the Green Bay Blizzard in 2015. Prior to joining the IFL, McCray was signed to the New York Giants roster as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Collegiately, McCray played two years at the University of Memphis after spending time at Eastern Illinois University and Coffeyville Community College. McCray transitioned to offensive line after closing out his first season as a Memphis Tiger with six tackles, five of which were solo stops.

"D'Angelo is going to bring veteran leadership and understanding of the game as a hardworking offensive lineman. He can play as offensive guard and center which is big in the Indoor Football League," said Coach Wooten. "I'm excited to have him join the Barnstormers and can't wait to see him in camp."

McCray is the first of 40 players who will sign to the Iowa Barnstormers 2017 training camp which will kick off in February.
