Intimidators Close Out First Half With 5-3 Win Over Legends

Kannapolis, NC - Starter Charlie Shirek took a perfect game into the sixth inning (5.1 innings) and tossed six shutout frames as the Intimidators downed Lexington 5-3 to close out the first half on a three-game win streak.

Kannapolis' Charlie Shirek earned his second win (2-3) with six scoreless innings giving up just one hit while striking out three. He retired the first 16 batters he faced.

Offensively, Logan Johnson plated the game?s first two runs in the first inning on a two-run single. Sergio Miranda plated Matt Inouye in the fourth. Mark Fleisher brought in Jim Gallagher in the fifth and Fleisher scored Gallagher again in the eighth on a sacrifice fly.

Inouye extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a double in the fourth inning.

The Intimidators close out the first half on a three-game win streak tying the season?s longest win streak.
