
International Duty: Herons in Action in June International Window

Inter Miami CF News Release
During the June FIFA international window, a number of Inter Miami CF and Inter Miami CF II players had the opportunity to represent the Club abroad by joining their respective national teams for the Concacaf Nations League, UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers and international friendlies. Let's take a look at how the players performed.
Drake Callender - United States
Drake Callender was called up to the United States Men's National Team for the team's participation in the Concacaf Nations League Finals, winning the first title of his international career. The goalkeeper was part of the roster as the team defeated Mexico 3-0 in the semifinals on June 15 before clinching the Concacaf Nations League title with a 0-2 win over Canada in the final on June 18.
Sergii Kryvtsov - Ukraine
Ukraine played two 2024 UEFA European Championship qualifying matches, claiming six points with wins over North Macedonia and Malta. Center back Sergii Kryvtsov was an unused substitute in the 2-3 win on the road against North Macedonia on June 16 and then started against Malta on June 19, playing the entire game and securing a clean sheet with a 1-0 victory on home soil.
Josef Martínez - Venezuela
Josef Martínez served as an unused substitute in the 1-0 win in a friendly against Honduras at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on June 15. However, in their second international friendly on June 18, he earned a starting position for Venezuela. Martínez played for 60 minutes and played a crucial role in their 1-0 victory over Guatemala at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.
Robert Taylor - Finland
Finland also played two UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying fixtures. Versatile midfielder Robert Taylor appeared as a substitute in the first game of the against Slovenia on June 16, in which his team emerged victorious at home with a 2-0 scoreline. Subsequently, in the team's home game against San Marino, Taylor entered the proceedings as a second half substitute and played out the final 30 minutes of Finland's convincing 6-0 win.
Kamal Miller - Canada
Kamal Miller featured as a starter and played the full 90 minutes for Canada in the team's matches in the Concacaf Nations League Finals. First, Canada faced Panama in the semifinals on June 15, with the team moving onto the final with a 0-2 win. Canada and Miller subsequently fell against the USMNT in the final on June 18.
Canada will carry on with international action playing in the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, with the team's first group stage match scheduled for June 27 against Guadeloupe.
Leonardo Campana - Ecuador
Forward Leonardo Campana received the start for the Ecuadorian national team against Bolivia in an international friendly match on June 17, playing 54 minutes as the team claimed a 1-0 win at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. Campana then remained an unused substitute in the match against Costa Rica on June 20 which resulted in a 3-1 victory for Ecuador at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Edison Azcona - Dominican Republic
Edison Azcona was called up by the Dominican Republic national team for an international friendly against Chile on June 16. The attacker played the entirety of the game. Despite their best efforts, the Dominican Republic team was unable to score a goal, resulting in a 5-0 loss in the match that took place at the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Cameron Johnson - Costa Rica
Inter Miami CF II forward, Cameron Johnson, was called up to represent the Costa Rican U-23 National Team in the Maurice Revello Tournament held in France. Johnson remained an unused substitute in the team's first match against Venezuela, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Similarly, he continued to serve as an unused substitute in their subsequent match against France, which resulted in a 1-3 loss. However, Johnson started in the team's final match in the tournament against Saudi Arabia on June 11, playing 78 minutes in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Johnson will continue playing with the Costa Rican U-23 side for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games that will be held from June 23 to July 8 in El Salvador, where Costa Rica was drawn in Group B alongside Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica and Colombia.
Modesto Mendez - Cuba
Cuba and Inter Miami II defender Modesto Mendez played two friendlies in South America, first facing Chile at the Estadio Municipal de Concepción in Concepción, Chile on June 11 in a fixture that resulted in a 3-0 defeat and then falling 2-0 against Uruguay at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay on June 20. Mendez started and played the entire 90 minutes in both friendlies.
Cuba and Mendez will now compete in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, with the team's first match in the group stage set for June 27 against Guatemala at DRV PNK Stadium.
