Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Inland Empire(20-20) scored a season high six runs in the 8th inning at Lake Elsinore (19-21) Wednesday night on the way to a 10-1 victory over the Storm. C.J. Cron paced the offensive effort with four RBI, putting him back in the team lead with 25 on the season.

The 66ers went without a base runner the first three innings of the game, but busted things wide open when Travis Witherspoon hit the first pitch of the 4th inning well over the left field wall for his fourth home run of the season. That started a three run rally for the 66ers who marched out to a 4-1 lead by the end of the 6th.

That appeared to be plenty of offense for the 66ers who got a quality start from Manaurys Correa, pitching six innings while allowing just one run on seven hits. The 66ers cemented their victory with the six run 8th which was highlighted by a two run double from Cron and a two run triple off the bat of Jean Almanzar.

The 66ers begin a six game homestand with a Thursday night matchup against division rival Lancaster. It will be Teacher's Appreciation Night presented by City of Readers and, like all Thursday's at San Manuel Stadium in 2012, it will be a Hanger 24 Thirsty Thursday with dollar drink specials. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm, and the game can be heard on the home of 66ers baseball KCAA 1050 AM beginning with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Pre-Game show at 6:55 pm.
