Rochester Brigade News Release

(Rochester, NY)-Rochester Brigade head coach and general manager Mark Saunders announced that FB/LB Sinque Holmes has been placed on Long Term Injured Reserve and WR/J Larry Long has been placed on Short Term Injured Reserve.

"It's unfortunate we lost those two young men in a highly contested game," stated Saunders. "Injuries are part of this game and we've been fortunate up to this point of the season... the players just need to step up to off set the losses."

Holmes suffered a fractured left hand, third metacarpal, last week against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers in the first quarter. Holmes underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair the injury, but will be out for the remainder of the season. Holmes played in five games this season, registering three rushes for five yards, one touchdown and 3.5 tackles.

Long suffered a torn rotator cuff muscle during last week's game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. The injury doesn't call for surgery, but he will be out for rehab in hopes to return for the end of the season. Long appeared in all nine games for the Brigade this season, catching ten balls for 69 yards and one touchdown, registering 19.5 tackles (16 solo), three recovered fumbles, one forced fumble and returning his only interception for a thirty yard touchdown.

This week the Brigade is traveling on the road to face the first place Atlantic Division Richmond Speed on Saturday, June 8. Catch all of the action with the voice of Brigade JC Delass on WASB 1590 AM, WRSB 1310 AM and WMJQ 105.5 FM.

The Brigade returns home to face the Division leading Albany Conquest in what could be a playoff preview on Thursday, June 20, for a 7:30 kickoff. Plenty of good seats still remain! Call 585-292-1530 to purchase your tickets or checkout the team website at www.rochesterbrigade.com.
