Ingram Set to Play in 100th WHL Game

Kamloops Blazers News Release
Connor Ingram has arguably been the Kamloops Blazers most valuable player this season, and the 18-year-old is closing in on a personal achievement in his WHL career.
Ingram can play in his 100th WHL game as soon as Wednesday night when the Blazers host the Red Deer Rebels. He'll be the 11th goalie in Blazers franchise history to reach this mark.
Coming from a small town of Imperial, Saskatchewan, which is home to about 300 people, Ingram talked about the transition of moving away to play junior hockey.
"I've grown a lot for sure. It's been different; you're a long way from home, but it's definitely a time to mature and experience things", Ingram said. "Things that this league has taught me will help me for the rest of my life.
"It's been fun; I couldn't imagine it anywhere else. It's been special for sure".
Now in his second full WHL season, Ingram is a big reason his team is in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race. He's in the top-10 among all WHL goalies in every major statistic category, and is coming off a week where he was the first star in all three Blazer wins, and was subsequently named the WHL's goalie of the week for the second time this season.
"It's not anything too important, I think the three wins is what gives us the notice and three wins is as big for the team as it is for me", Ingram said.
In only his second full season with the Blazers, Ingram is beginning to climb the franchise-record ladder among goalies. In his 99 career games, he's already in the top-10 of all-time Blazer goaltenders in minutes, saves and shutouts, as well as 12th in wins.
And his success in Kamloops hasn't gone unnoticed in the scouting world. Ingram was ranked 12th among North American goalies on the NHL's Central Scouting list which came out last month.
"It's something that's never really pertained to me", Ingram said. "I wasn't drafted even into the [WHL], and even last year going through the NHL draft I never put much focus on it. It's definitely as tough for a goalie as anybody, but I can tell you it doesn't end your career if it doesn't happen."
So for Ingram, Wednesday night will likely be the same as any other game, should it be his 100th in the WHL.
