Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - Brandon Wheat Kings 2016 Playoff Packages and 2016-17 Season Tickets are now on sale and the Western Hockey League club has announced a special offer to those that do by Wednesday, March 4th.
By purchasing a playoff package and renewing next year's season ticket by next month's deadline, western Manitoba hockey fans will not only get next year's tickets at this year's price, the WHL club will again give them this year's first two playoff home games for free!
Season Ticket prices for the 2016-17 season will be increasing to $475 for adults, $425 for seniors, $325 for youth and $200 for children (12 and under) after the June Early Bird Deadline. By renewing now will allow fans to save $25 and enjoy Wheat Kings' hockey next season for what will again be the least expensive season ticket in the 22-team league.
For those fans that do not wish to renew their season tickets by the March deadline, they will still be eligible for significant savings if they elect to purchase their playoff package. Those that do will receive a $4 saving off regular box office prices on all playoff home games, scheduled to begin the final week of March.
To put these savings in perspective, based on last year's playoff run, playoff package holders saved $76 off of the walk-up price.
This marks the third straight season that the Wheat Kings have offered this special playoff offer. In a letter mailed out to existing season ticket holders this past week, Owner/General Manager and Head Coach Kelly McCrimmon says that the reason to continue this initiative include 1) the hockey club wants to thank its existing season ticket holders 2) Wheat Kings want to begin the season ticket renewal process as early as possible and 3) The Wheat Kings want true home ice advantage by having as much local support as possible.
Current Season Ticket Holders renewal forms are currently in the mail. If you would like to come on board as a new Season Ticket Holder for the 2016-17 season, please email us at office@wheatkings.com and we will reply with both forms.
Unlike recent years when the WHL playoffs in Brandon have sometimes conflicted with the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, Westman Place will be available to the Wheat Kings for the opening round this year.
On the ice, the 35-17-2-2 Wheat Kings will play two games at Westman Communications Group Place this week - Wednesday vs. Kootenay and Friday against Edmonton.
Tickets to both games are on sale at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at keystonecentre.com.
