Indians Player of the Week

August 3, 2017 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Tribe right-hander Nick Kingham has been named the Indians Player of the Week after an impressive start against Pawtucket on July 29.

Kingham earned the win against the Red Sox allowing one run on eight hits while striking out five. It was also the fourth start (second straight) this season that he did not allow a walk. His 22 walks are the fewest among Tribe hurlers who have thrown at least 55.0 innings. In Kingham's previous start, he also went seven innings and surrendered one run en route to a victory.

It's the second time in his career that he went seven innings in consecutive games. The last time he accomplished the feat came during a six-game stretch of seven-inning performances from May 21, 2014, through June 18, 2014, between Double-A Altoona and Indianapolis. In those games, he recorded a 1.93 ERA (9 ER in 42.0 IP).

Honorable Mention: Infielder/Outfielder Joey Terdoslavich was also in the running for Player of the Week after hitting .385 (10-for-26) with two doubles and two RBI. He recorded three multi-hit games during the week.
