Indians Just Short on Comeback

SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Indians (1-2) comeback bid came up just short tonight against the Everett AquaSox (2-1), falling 7-6 in front of a spectacular crowd of 6,627 fans at Avista Stadium.

The Indians rallied from a 7-3 deficit in the bottom of the 8th, scoring three runs. Donnie Ecker hit a liner through the hole at shortstop to score Matt West to come within one run of the AquaSox. With a runner in scoring position, the Indians were unable to bat in the tying run in the bottom of the 9th.

Indians starter Michael Kirkman (0-1) lasted five innings, allowing five hits and four runs, all of which were unearned. Kirkman finished the night with four strikeouts.

The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow to continue the five game home stand against Everett. Tomorrow night is Yoke$B!G(Js $1 Family Feast Night at Avista Stadium, presented by Yoke$B!G(Js Fresh Market and 92.9 ZZU. Hot dogs, sodas, and ice cream sandwiches are just $1 all night long!
