Today's Starters:
KIN LHP Eric Berger (5-5, 2.11) Carolina League All-Star Eric Berger was born 30 minutes down the road from Kinston in Goldsboro, NC. His father was in the military, stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force base. Berger only lived in Goldsboro until he was two before moving to California. He had his best start his last time out, pitching seven scoreless innings at Lynchburg, allowing just two hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
MB RHP Brandon Beachy (1-0, 1.23) Brandon Beachy will be making his first start of the season today, as he had previously worked five games in relief for Myrtle Beach, allowing just one earned run in 7.1 innings. The one earned run came in his only appearance vs. Kinston on June 10, allowing a run on two hits in one inning of relief.
