Richmond, VA- The Indianapolis Indians beat the Richmond Braves 7-1 Tuesday at The Diamond. The Indians batted around in the ninth inning to blow a close game open and even the series.
Indianapolis snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Raul Chavez. Richmond tied the game in the fifth on an RBI double by Josh Anderson. The Indians moved in front to stay in the seventh on a two-run double by Kevin Thompson. Indianapolis put the game away with a four run ninth fueled by a key Richmond error that allowed two runs to score. Chavez capped the rally with a two-run single.
Luis Munoz pitched six innings to earn the win. Matt Miller tossed two scoreless frames to notch a save. Damian Moss took the loss. Anderson had three hits for Richmond. Chavez had two hits and three RBI for the Indians.
The Braves continue their four game series vs. the Indians Wednesday at The Diamond at 7 PM. Jonathon Rouwenhorst will pitch for Richmond against Adam Bernero.
