KINSTON, NC (MAY 28, 2011) - Kinston scored three times in the seventh inning to snap a tie game and beat Winston-Salem 5-2 on Saturday night at Grainger Stadium. The Indians overcame an injury-shortened outing by their starting pitcher to win the rubber game of the series.

K-Tribe starter Toru Murata left the game after just two batters because of an undisclosed injury and was replaced by reliever Chris Jones. The Dash (21-28) got to Jones in the second inning for a two-run homer by Nick Ciolli to give Winston a temporary lead.

The Indians (24-24) quickly tied the game with a two-run shot of their own off the bat of Adam Abraham against Andre Rienzo in the bottom of the second.

The game stayed knotted at two until the seventh inning. Justin Collop walked the first two men he faced and the K-Tribe broke the tie when Bo Greenwell's ground-rule double brought in Delvi Cid from second base. With the infield in, Jeremie Tice grounded a ball off second baseman Jake Oester's glove and into right field. Two runs came in to score on the error as the Indians took a 5-2 lead.

The Dash were stifled offensively over much of the ballgame, going 15 straight batters without a baserunner and six innings without a hit. Preston Guilmet pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save, his 11th in as many chances this season.

The win went to Tyler Sturdevant (3-2), who threw a season-best four innings of no-hit, no-run ball. Collop (0-3) took the loss after allowing all three runs in the seventh.

Winston-Salem finished its six-game road trip with a 2-4 record.

The Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Monday for a special 4 p.m. Memorial Day game against the Potomac Nationals. RHP Ryan Buch (0-0, 1.50) makes his home debut on the mound for Winston-Salem. The audio broadcast of the game begins at 3:45 p.m. on www.wsdash.com .
