Spokane, WASH. - Drew Romo hit a tie-breaking home run in the eighth inning as the Spokane Indians defeated the Hillsboro Hops, 3-2, in front of 4,495 fans at Avista Stadium for the Father's Day Game presented by Radia & 103.9 BOB FM.

SUNDAY'S TOP PERFORMERS

- Romo's fifth home run of the year proved to the difference in the game. The 20-year-old leads Spokane in batting average (.297), RBI (39), hits (62), and is second on the squad in OPS (.812).

- Andrew Quezada (4-0) picked up the win in his first relief appearance of the season, tossing four scoreless innings while walking one and striking out four.

- Eddy Diaz reached base twice on a single and a walk, scored a run, and picked up his 21st steal of the season.

AROUND THE NORTHWEST LEAGUE

The Canadians (28-32) topped the Emeralds (35-24) in Vancouver by a final of 6-3.

Saturday, June 18th - Joe Rock tossed seven strong innings and the Indians connected on a pair of home runs in the seventh inning as they defeated the Hops, 3-1, in front of 4,194 fans at Avista Stadium for the debut of Marvel's Defenders of the Diamond Night.

Friday, June 17th - The visiting Hillsboro Hops piled up a season-high 19 hits as they defeated the Spokane Indians, 12-3, in front of 4,198 fans at Avista Stadium for Pride Night & Fireworks presented by Pizza Factory, KXLY 4 News Now, & Hot 96.9.

Thursday, June 16th - The Indians staged a late #RedbandRally but it fell just short as the Hops escaped with a 4-2 win in front of 2,501 fans at Avista Stadium for '90s Night presented by Azteca Mexican Restaurants.

Wednesday, June 15th - Tony Locey tossed six no-hit innings and the Spokane offense scraped together four runs as they topped the Hops, 4-0, in front of 2,598 fans at Avista Stadium for Hawaiian Night presented by Coors Light & Rock 94 1/2.

Tuesday, June 14th - Colorado Rockies top prospect Zac Veen drilled two home runs and drove in four as Spokane cruised to a 9-2 win over Hillsboro in front of 2,081 fans at 75 dogs at Avista Stadium for Bark in the Park Night.

NEXT HOME GAME

The Indians open up a six game series against the Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners affiliate) on Tuesday, June 21st with Baseball Hat Giveaway Night presented by Pepsi & The Inlander. The first 1,000 fans and all STCU Gold Glove Members in attendance will receive a FREE Spokane Indians Baseball Cap courtesy of Pepsi and The Inlander!
