INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians will have nine games televised on WHMB-TV 40 in 2007. The schedule, which features seven Friday night affairs, begins May 11 with a contest against Ottawa. This will be the eighth consecutive season that select Tribe games will be shown on the Central Indiana station.

"The Indians are excited about the 2007 season, and we are pleased that WHMB TV-40 will be teaming with us once again for a schedule of telecasts," Indians General Manager & Vice President Cal Burleson says. "These games present a great opportunity to project Indians Baseball at Victory Field to a broad audience. TV-40 is a great partner, and we continue to enjoy our relationship with General Manager Keith Passon and his staff."

Howard Kellman, who enters his 32nd season as radio play-by-play "Voice of the Tribe," will move over to the TV booth for the WHMB telecasts. Honored as Indiana's Sportscaster of the Year in 2002, Kellman has also called IHSAA football and basketball games on TV 40 since 1990-91.

Bernie Allen will serve as the TV analyst in 2007. After playing collegiately at Purdue University, Allen enjoyed time with the Minnesota Twins (1962-66), Washington Senators (1967-71), New York Yankees (1972-73) and Montreal Expos (1973). He batted .239 with 73 home runs and 351 RBI in 1,139 Major League contests.

"WHMB is once again excited about broadcasting Indianapolis Indians' games during the 2007 season," TV-40 Sports Director Dennis Kasey says. "The Indians are one of the best family values in Indianapolis and they fit in perfectly with our family-oriented programming."

WHMB-TV 40 is a full-power station with a tower on the northeast side of Indianapolis. From the tower, WHMB sends out a UHF signal to over one million households in Central Indiana. The station is carried by Comcast & Insight on Channel 9 and Bright House & Time Warner on Channel 22.
