Hens To Host Championship Celebration Weekend

The Back-To-Back International League Champions will be back in town soon - Opening Day is Friday, April 13 at 5:30 PM. From Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15 at Fifth Third Field, the Toledo Mud Hens will officially celebrate their return with numerous activities and giveaways. Local children will be participating in many of the listed activities.

Here is a schedule of events for the Opening Weekend (schedule is subject to change)

Friday, April 13-Opening Day with the first pitch at 5:30 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 4:00 PM.

4:55 Fans will be treated to a 2006 season highlight video

5:00 Returning players & Coaches will bring out Governors' Cup to home plate.

5:02 Raising of the 2006 Governors' Cup banner by returning players (RF Home Run Terrace)

5:08 Player introductions (both teams will be introduced & line up on base lines)

5:19 Ceremonial First Pitch (Noah Dressel)

5:20 Moment of Silence for Keith Dressel

5:23 National Anthem & Fly Over

6:00 Governors' Cup displayed on the concourse - photo opportunities for fans

-Fans will receive a 2007 Hens Magnetic Schedule upon exit (compliments of ABC Warehouse)

Saturday, April 14-Opening Night with the first pitch at 7:00 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 6:00 PM.

6:20 Fans will be treated to a 2006 season highlight video

6:40 Returning Mud Hen players and coaches will receive their Championship Rings (on field)

6:50 International League President Randy Mobley addresses the crowd

7:00 Governors' Cup displayed on the concourse - photo opportunities for fans

-3,000 lucky fans will receive a replica championship ring (compliments of Pepsi)

-Fans will receive a 2007 Hens Magnetic Schedule upon exit (compliments of ABC Warehouse)

-Post-game fireworks

Sunday, April 15-"Kids Opening Day" - First pitch at 2:00 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 1:00 PM.

1:00 Governors' Cup displayed on the concourse - photo opportunities for fans

1:15-45 Two returning Mud Hen players from 2006 season will sign autographs (Sec 119)

1:30-3:30 Free Face Painting and Balloons for kids (on main concourse)

1:38 "Jackie Robinson Day" video to commemorate the 60th anniversary of breaking the color barrier

1:42 Fans will be treated to a 2006 season highlight video

-Fans in attendance will receive a Championship mini-pennant.

-Fans will receive a 2007 Hens Magnetic Schedule upon exit (compliments of ABC Warehouse)

-Post-game Kids Run The Bases
