SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs defeated the Durham Bulls 4-1 in Spring Training action Wednesday at the Blue Jays complex in Dunedin, Florida.
Shortstop Ray Olmedo paced the Syracuse attack collecting three hits and droving in three runs. Rob Cosby and Curtis Thigpen each collected two hits for the Chiefs.
Michael MacDonald started on the mound for Syracuse and tossed four scoreless innings allowing just two hits. MacDonald did not allow a walk and struck out four Bulls. Matt Roney pitched a scoreless inning in relief and Beau Kemp closed out the game with two scoreless innings.
The Chiefs (3-3-1) and Durham Bulls meet again on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Rays complex in St. Petersburg, Florida.
