Independence, Famous Toastery Extends Military Appreciation Partnership

Charlotte (NC) - The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team and Famous Toastery are excited to announce a 2019 partnership, including the presenting sponsorship of Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, May 11th.

The centerpiece of the partnership will be a special military-themed uniform worn at the May 11th game versus Loudoun United presented by Famous Toastery. Fans will be able to bid on Independence players' game-worn, autographed jerseys.

"Famous Toastery is thrilled to be presented the opportunity to partner with the Independence to honor our Military," said Famous Toastery Chief Executive Officer David Burgess. "Partnering with the Charlotte Independence is perfect for us. Like them, we are a close-knit family dedicated to supporting the growth and development of Charlotte. We could not pass up such a great chance to show appreciation to our Military, former and active and plan to do so again in 2019 and beyond."

"We aspire to build long term partnerships with like-minded businesses," said Independence Vice President of Marketing & Partnerships Wade Leaphart. "2018 proved to be a great kickoff with Famous Toastery, highlighted by on-site activation, branding and Military Appreciation Night. Needless to say, we're thrilled to extend our partnership with Famous to 2019 and beyond. This year's Military Appreciation Night is sure to be a fan favorite."

In appreciation of current, former and the families of Military members, the Independence will be offering discounted tickets. Details will be made available at a later date. Famous Toastery and the Charlotte Independence will support this campaign leading into the game, and throughout the season with co-branded promotional items, ticket giveaways/products and seeing a lot more of the Famous Toastery Mascot, Mr. Toast during the 2019 season.

The Independence will return to USL Championship action on Friday, March 15th for the 2019 Season Opening Game versus Indy Eleven at the Sportsplex at Matthews.
