Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
If Las Vegas doesn't defeat Austin Bold FC in USL Season Opener this Saturday (March 9th) then all fans in attendance to receive free ticket to Lights FC's next home match.
"I Am Putting My Money Where My Mouth Is -- That's How Confident I Am That Season Two is Going to be Great." -- Lights FC Owner & CEO Brett Lashbrook. With Lights FC going undefeated in their 8 preseason matches, team owner Brett Lashbrook is putting his money where his mouth is by guaranteeing that Las Vegas will win on Opening Night.
New season, new coach, new confidence. Combine all those elements and they bring a new swagger to the Eric Wynalda-led Lights FC. Club owner Brett Lashbrook announced today he has guaranteed they will defeat Austin Bold FC in the 2019 United Soccer League opening match on Saturday, March 9 at Cashman Field, with kickoff scheduled at 7:30 p.m. The promotion is supported by the Plaza Hotel & Casino, the official hotel of Las Vegas Lights FC.
After going undefeated in preseason action with seven wins and a draw, including the largest margin of victory of a USL Championship club over a Major League Soccer club when it beat MLS' Toronto FC 5-1 on February 2nd, Lights FC is ready to kickoff the 2019 USL Championship regular season at home by hosting USL expansion franchise Austin Bold FC. Lights FC outscored their opponents by an aggregate of 31 to 9 in preseason action.
"I am putting my money where my mouth is -- that's how confident I am that season two is going to be great," Lashbrook said. "We're taking this action today to make sure our fans know our level of confidence, too. We are not the same Lights FC from the 2018 season. I hope this helps get the attention of all sports fans in Las Vegas. We plan on big things this season -- come join us as we start the ride to become 2019 USL Cup Champions!"
So, it's simple. In the unexpected event that Lights FC doesn't win (i.e., a loss or a draw) against Austin Bold FC on March 9 at Cashman Field, every fan in attendance will get a free ticket to Lights FC's next home match on March 30th (which will be "Salute to Golden Knights Night" with the team wearing commemorative VGK inspired jerseys). Fans will receive a voucher upon leaving the stadium with instructions for redeeming the ticket online.
Single Game Tickets for Saturday's Lights FC home opener start at just $15 and can be purchased online at LightsFC.com/SingleTix and at every La Bonita Supermarket in Las Vegas. Season Tickets to enjoy every Lights FC regular season & US Open Cup home matches can be purchased at LightsFC.com/SeasonTickets with prices starting at just $200. In addition, 8-Game Flex Plans kickoff at just $100 and give fans the ability to pick the 8 matches in the 2019 USL Championship season they want to attend, for more information visit LightsFC.com/FlexPlan.
