Inter Miami CF News Release

It's here! Your Futbol is Live.

Today is the day Inter Miami fans worldwide had been patiently waiting for since March. On Wednesday morning, MLS announced its plan to resume the 2020 season with a tournament in Orlando that will take place from July 8 to August 11.

Our players are enthused and prepared to give it all on the pitch and win the tournament after finding out the dates that will see them return to competitive action.

"We're all excited to be able to get back out there and do what we love and start playing soccer again. We're ready to get the season rolling again," said experienced midfielder Lee Nguyen. "This is what we live for. It's great to train every day and whatnot, but we want to get out there, play games, and compete for titles. This is a way for us to get out there and start doing that."

Inter Miami's No.10 Rodolfo Pizarro, as well as Club captain and goalkeeper Luis Robles, shared the same sentiment, being ambitious and wanting to make history with the team.

"Our aspirations are to be the champions of the tournament. That's what we're going to fight for in every match, to be champions," voiced a confident Pizarro. "We ask our fans to follow us on TV because we're going to give it all out on the field to bring joy to them."

"We want to win. We want to continue building a winning mentality, we want it to culminate in not only victories but trophies," added Robles.

Robles also stressed the fact that despite the unforeseen situations throughout the Club's inaugural MLS season, this historic year is the beginning of a wonderful winning culture within the organization that will yield many successes that South Florida's passionate and loyal fanbase will be able to celebrate.

"I think that's where our hope is, that we can sort of get through this part and resume the season and have success so that we're adding one more block to the foundations of this organization. A foundation that's going to be deep and wide and easy to build upon, so that for decades to come, people can look back and see that the building blocks were put together so this organization can be successful for a very long time," said Robles.

In addition, both Pizarro and Nguyen expressed feeling safe with the precautions the league has implemented as they gear up for the return to play tournament.

"I feel good knowing that following the security protocols we will be safe. I'm glad they take care of us the way they've been doing," highlighted Pizarro.

"We trust all the experts. We know they're taking all the proper precautions to make sure we're safe so that we can go out there and do our jobs as safely as we can. When they say it's safe to go out there and play, we're ready," claimed Nguyen.
