Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact will play its decisive Champions League quarterfinal home game on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 8pm at Olympic Stadium, against prominent Mexican club Pachuca.
Tickets for this event are included in 2015 season ticket packages. Nevertheless, members can purchase additional tickets for this important matchup in an exclusive pre-sale on Monday, December 1, at 10am.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Thursday, December 4, also at 10am, via ticketmaster.ca (1-855-790-1245), as well as at the Stade Saputo and Olympic Stadium box offices.
The first match of the aggregate goal, home-and-away series will be played in Mexico on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10pm (ET) at the Estadio Hidalgo, in Pachuca. The Impact reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League by finishing in first place in its group. The Impact also earned home field advantage by finishing fourth among the eight qualified teams.
This is a second ever qualification for the quarterfinals of this tournament, having faced Mexican club Santos Laguna in 2009. Playing in the North American second division at the time, Montreal won the first game of the series 2-0 in front of 55,571 spectators at Olympic Stadium, before losing 5-2 in Mexico.
The CONCACAF Champions League is the tournament that determines the best club from its region: North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The winner then qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup.
