SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - NBA G League Ignite (0-4) fell short to the Santa Cruz Warriors (3-0), 121-112, at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, Calif.
John Jenkins recorded his third-straight game with at least 20 points after finishing with 20 points, three assists and two rebounds while shooting 7-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-10 from the three-point line. Jeremy Pargo and Tyler Smith followed closely with 19 points each. Pargo added six assists and three rebounds, while Smith pitched in three rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Admon Gilder had a final stat line of 16 points, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
Gui Santos led the way for the Warriors after posting a game-high 29 points with seven rebounds and two steals. Lester Quinones tallied 27 points, nine rebounds and five assists while shooting 8-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-10 from behind the arc. Kendric Davis recorded 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Jackson Rowe finished with 15 points.
After missing the first three games, Jeremy Pargo made an immediate impact after making his season debut. Pargo tallied 13 of his 19 points in the first half on 6-of-9 shots from the field. Ignite shot 55.3 percent from the field in the first half, including 43.8 percent from the three-point line. Ignite dug in on the defensive end after limiting the Warriors to 4-of-18 shooting from behind the arc and forced eight turnovers, resulting in 19 points. Ignite took a nine-point lead into halftime after 12 ties in that span. Ignite held the advantage until midway through the fourth quarter. After a 101-94 deficit, the Warriors caught fire en route to using a 22-5 run to take a 10-point lead with under three minutes remaining in regulation and coasted to the victory.
