IFL Announces All-IFL Teams for 2021 Season, Nine Rattlers Make List

COLUMBUS, OH - Rattlers defensive back Dillion Winfrey is one of only three unanimous choices as 1st-Team All-IFL selections as announced by the Indoor Football League on Friday.

The Arizona Rattlers tied with Massachusetts for the most players represented with nine on the All-IFL teams, followed by the Frisco Fighters and Duke City Gladiators which each had four players that made the coveted list..

In all, 35 different players were selected to the 1st and 2nd All-IFL teams for the 2021 season. The voting was compiled from representatives from each IFL team to recognize the IFL's best players from the 2021 regular season.

Nine rookies earned All-IFL honors, including three on the 1st Team. Of the 36 All-IFL spots, 19 were occupied by players from first-year IFL teams. Additionally, one player - Sioux Falls Storm running back Nate Chavious - earned 1st Team All-IFL honors at two positions, running back and kick returner.

The complete list of Rattlers All-IFL honorees is as follows:

FIRST TEAM ALL-IFL

DEFENSIVE LINE - NIKOLAUS D'AVANZO, ARIZONA RATTLERS

D'Avanzo finished second in the IFL in both total sacks with seven and in tackles-for-loss with 14.

The Baltimore native averaged 1.08 tackles for loss per game and just over half-a-sack per contest with 0.54.

Nikolas also blocked three kicks on special teams this season.

OFFENSIVE LINE - JAHAIR JONES, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Jones led a Rattlers offensive line that finished as the best rushing team in the IFL with 1,649 yards and 63 touchdowns.

As a rookie, Jones helped the Arizona offensive line keep their quarterback upright all season. The Rattlers finished with the second-fewest number of sacks allowed in the IFL.

WIDE RECEIVER - JARROD HARRINGTON, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Harrington was the most consistent target for the Rattlers this season, and he finished among the league leaders with 52 receptions (5) for 620 yards (6) and 11 touchdowns (9).

Harrington also contributed to the Rattlers running game, rushing 20 times for 141 yards and three touchdowns.

DEFENSIVE BACK - DILLION WINFREY, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Winfrey wrapped up his season as the league's leader in interceptions with 11 and averaged 0.79 picks per game.

Dillion was incredibly efficient over the last three games of the regular season, recording seven of his 11 interceptions.

The star defensive back led the league in pass breakups with 20.

Winfrey took home Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this year.

SECOND TEAM ALL-IFL

CENTER - STEVEN GURROLA, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Gurrola held down the middle of the offensive line for the Rattlers who finished as the best rushing team in the IFL with 1,649 yards and 63 touchdowns.

The former University of Arizona Wildcat helped the Rattlers finish near the top of the league in sacks allowed (6).

OFFENSIVE LINE - LAMAR MADY, ARIZONA RATTLERS

The Topeka, Kansas native helped lead an offensive line that produced the best completion percentage in the IFL (69.4%) .

The fifth year veteran is the unquestioned leader of the Rattlers team that finished No. 1 overall in the IFL at 12-2 this season.

KICKER - ERNESTO LACAYO, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Lacayo connected on 85 of 93 PATs on the season, good enough for first in the IFL in that category.

Ernesto knocked through six of 10 field goal attempts, and led the league in field goal percentage (60.0%).

The special teams ace earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors once this season.

DEFENSIVE BACK - TYRELL PEARSON, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Pearson ended his season with 18 total pass breakups, good enough for third best in the IFL.

The stand out defensive back had three interceptions this season, and ranks eighth in the IFL with that number.

Tyrell tallied 45 total tackles, for an average of 3.5 tackles per game and forced two fumbles this season.

QUARTERBACK - DREW POWELL, ARIZONA RATTLERS

Lead the Rattlers to the best record in the IFL at 12-2.

Powell led the league in five major offensive statistical categories.

QB1 ran for 902 total yards (1) for an average of 64.4 yards-per-game (1) for 6.6 yards-per-carry (1), while adding 35 rushing touchdowns (1).

Powell completed 69.4 percent of his passes (1) for 1,745 yards (4th) and 30 passing touchdowns (3).

Drew earned two Offensive Player of the Week nods throughout the year.
