Idaho Stampede News Release
Boise, ID â The Idaho Stampede is calling on basketball fans to help raise awareness and "fill a truck" full of much needed snack-food donations for the Idaho Ronald McDonald House at the Idaho Stampede vs. Dakota Wizards game on Saturday, February 5. The goal of the night is to fill the bed of a Dodge Truck, located on the concourse, with enough food to help provide support to more than 100 families.
The Idaho Stampede and McDonald's are teaming up to encourage Treasure Valley residents to join them for McDonald's Community Night at the Idaho Center on Saturday, February 5. The Stampede is rewarding any attendee who donates a snack-food item to the Idaho Ronald McDonald House at Saturday's game with a ticket to any 2004-2005 Idaho Stampede basketball regular season home game for just $1.00.
"We are very excited to be the beneficiary of the Idaho Stampede and McDonald's Community Night," said Mindy Plumlee, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. "Our House serves hundreds of families each year â it is always a good feeling to be able to provide some of the comforts they would enjoy in their own home." All of the donated snack-food items collected will be donated directly to the Idaho Ronald McDonald House located in downtown Boise close to the major medical centers.
"The Stampede is pleased to partner in this effort for the second straight year," said team president John Brunelle. "The Idaho Ronald McDonald House has touched the lives of thousands of people, and we want to do our small part to support its mission."
The Idaho Ronald McDonald House is available to all families of children hospitalized or receiving treatment for serious illness from a Boise medical facility. In its 17 years of operation, the House has provided a sanctuary for more than 5,100 families from Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Northern Nevada, and beyond. While McDonald's restaurants provide generous, ongoing support to the charity, the majority of financial contributions come from individual community donations, corporate sponsorships and special events such as the McDonald's Community Night with the Stampede.
