Idaho Falls Defeats Owlz in Game 1 of 2

IDAHO FALLS- The Orem Owlz have already clinched their playoff spot in the upcoming Pioneer League Playoffs that begins next week, as for their opponent in Idaho Falls they are still fighting for their playoff lives. On Saturday night the Owlz even the score up at 4-4 to hopefully steal game one of two on the road, but Chukars didn't allow that to happen as they defeated the Owlz 9-4 to inch closer to a playoff matchup with Orem.
The night started out with a bang by Tanner Lubach in the top of the second inning of play. In his first at bat of the night he wasted no time waiting for pitches as he hammered the first pitch he saw over the wall for his third home run of the year to put Orem on top early 2-0.
Despite a 2-0 lead the Chukars didn't back down and they score two runs of their own to even the score, but they added two more in the same inning to take a 4-2 lead over the Owlz. Orem looked up and saw a 2 run lead in favor of the Chukars, but were able to even the score with runs by Sam Koenig and Jeff Boehm in the third inning, but that was all the runs the Owlz scored on the night.
The Chukars scored one run in the third, two in the sixth and two more in the eighth to put away the Owlz in Game 1 of 2 as they are now one win away from facing the Owlz in the playoffs.
