IceRays Trade Monteith and Obregon

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays have announced they have traded captain Mychal Monteith to the Texas Tornado and Josh Obregon to the Odessa Jackalopes.

Monteith was traded to Texas for two tenders, a first round draft pick, and future considerations from the Tornado.

Obregon was shipped to Odessa for future considerations.

In 17 games played this season, Monteith has one goal and seven assists, along with a plus/minus rating of -8. The former captain of the IceRays played 36 games in Corpus Christi after being acquired from St. Louis.

Obregon played 14 games so far this year with the IceRays, scoring just three goals and adding one assist.

Monteith has already committed to play at (D1) Niagara University next year.

Both were healthy scratches in yesterday's loss to the Amarillo Bulls.

Corpus Christi wishes them the best of luck in the future.

The IceRays are back on home ice this weekend as they host the New Mexico Mustangs for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday night. Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
