A pair of goals each from Johnny Corneil and Blake Siebenaler carried the Niagara IceDogs to a 7-1 win over the Oshawa Generals in front of over 1,500 people Sunday night at the Gale Centre.

The IceDogs pre-season got off to a great start as Corneil started the scoring midway through the first period. Evan Krassey scored in his first taste of OHL action to give Niagara a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

Siebenaler made it a three-goal lead with his blast from the point on the power play at 12:11 of the second period.

Oshawa would open the scoring in the third period, but four more goals from the IceDogs gave them the win in their first game of the pre-season.

Blake Richard stopped 19 shots in the first two period before making way for 16 year-old Stephen Dhillon. He stopped nine of 10 shots in the third. Appleby made 22 saves for the Generals.

The IceDogs get back at it Sept. 5 when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers.
