IceDogs Select David Kase in First Round of 2015 CHL Import Draft

The Niagara IceDogs have selected forward David Kase in the first round of the 2015 CHL Import Draft, 33rd overall!

A native of Kadan, Czech Republic, Kase is a 5'9", 159 lbs. centre who was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 5th round, 128th overall, in this past weekend's NHL Draft.

Kase spent last season playing for KLH Chomutov in the Czech Republic's second league, posting 7 goals and 7 assists for 14 point in 30 games as Chomutov took home the league championship.

Kase also has a great deal of international experience, having been a part of the Czech Republic's silver medal winning Under-18 teams at both the 2014 World Under-18 Men's Hockey Championships and the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, serving as team captain at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament. In addition to his Under-18 experience, Kase was also a member of the Czech Republic's team in the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championships, where he posted an assist in four games.

Kase will be the IceDogs lone pick of the day as they will be passing on their second round import selection.
