Niagara IceDogs News Release
After picking up a convincing 7-1 win Thursday night to gain a 1-0 series lead over the Brampton Battalion, the Niagara IceDogs will now be tested on the road as they visit the Troops this Sunday, Mar. 27th at 2 p.m.
The last time the 'Dogs paid the Battalion a visit, they were shutout by a score of 3-0 as Philip Lane had a big game for Brampton to lead his team past the favoured IceDogs squad.
Although game one of the round one playoff series was a bit of a breeze for Niagara, they will now have to deal with an away crowd and a bigger ice surface at the PowerAde Centre.
Brampton capitalized on the first meeting of the season on Oct. 2 with a 4-3 OT win, while the IceDogs won 5-4 in a shootout later that month. Niagara took the next two meetings (2-0 on Feb. 5 and 3-1 on Feb. 13), but Brampton managed to give the 'Dogs a tough time in the final two meetings of the regular season.
The Battalion have played their best hockey in their own building this season, so the IceDogs will have to come out strong and put even more pressure on the Troops than they did in game one.
Fans are encouraged to make the trek to support the IceDogs in game two on our Fan Bus. The cost is $40 and that includes transportation and a ticket to the game.
The Fan Bus will leave from the Gatorade Garden City Complex at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Anyone interested in taking the bus trip can contact Nick Williams at n.williams@niagaraicedogs.net or call at 905-687-3641 x 232.
For those planning on catching the game from home, it can be viewed on TVCogeco and The OHL Action Pack, or heard on the radio with Chuck and Ted on 105.1 The River.
The IceDogs next home game will take place on Tuesday, Mar. 29th for game three of the best-of-seven series.
Tickets for this game can be purchased at the IceDogs office, Pen Centre, Seaway Mall and Money Mart in Niagara Falls. The puck drops at 7 p.m. Tuesday and the pre-game Fan Fest will begin in the parking lot at 5 p.m.
