Rogers Sportsnet Ontario to Broadcast OHL Cup Final

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League is pleased to announce that the Championship Final of the 2011 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament hosted by the Greater Toronto Hockey League will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario this Sunday March 27 at 2:00 pm Eastern. The game will be played at Herb Carnegie Arena in North York, ON.

"On behalf of the Ontario Hockey League we are thrilled to showcase the next wave of OHL talent live on Rogers Sportsnet for the first time in the history of this event," said OHL Commissioner David Branch.

The OHL Cup features 1995-born players eligible for the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. There are currently more than 270 OHL Cup graduates competing in the OHL, while more than 45 OHL Cup graduates and OHL alumni have competed in the National Hockey League this season including Steven Stamkos, Drew Doughty, Matt Duchene, Corey Perry, P.K Subban, John Tavares, and Taylor Hall, along with Eric, Marc, and Jordan Staal.

The 2011 OHL Cup includes 20 participating teams from across Ontario and the United States. The champions and finalists from minor hockey associations in Ontario, including the GTHL, OMHA, ODMHA, ALLIANCE, and an NOHA representative participate in the tournament with additional teams identified by the Tournament Selection Committee.

The 40-game Round-Robin schedule wraps up Friday with Quarter-Final and Semi-Final games to be played at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on Saturday.
