Sudbury, Ont. - The Mississauga IceDogs traveled to Sudbury this evening and attempted to exact revenge on a Wolves squad that beat them 8-3 on January 14. This time, the IceDogs had the upper-hand, winning 3-2. Their record improves to 33-17-0-2 in the process.

The IceDogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead on 1st period, power-play goals by Oskar Osala and Jean-Michel Rizk at 6:14 and 10:50, respectively, with the assists getting credited to Osala, Rizk, Alex Pietrangelo and Kyle Lamb. However, the Wolves battled back to tie up the game on a power-play goal by Justin Donati at 16:17 of the 1st period and an Akim Aliu even-strength marker at 7:12 of the middle frame. Their helpers were provided by Jonathan D'Aversa, Marc Staal, Zach McCullough and Kevin Baker.

Fortunately, Andrew Merrett put Mississauga in the lead for good at 4:49 of the 3rd period, off of Rizk and Matt Corrente feeds.

The IceDogs were 2 for 8 on the power-play while the Wolves were 1 for 10. Lucas Lobsinger contributed 24 saves for the IceDogs while Sebastien Dahm provided 43 stops for the Wolves. The game's three stars were Rizk (1st), Aliu (2nd) and Osala (3rd).

The IceDogs complete the weekend by hosting the Saginaw Spirit tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. This game will be Lucy's Seafood Mardi Gras Night at the Hershey Centre, with beads getting distributed and the Lil' Blue Devils Dixieland jazz band performing. It is also the first time the IceDogs and Spirit have hooked up since their trade on January 1, which saw Cody Bass head to Saginaw and Corrente come to Mississauga.
