PENSACOLA, FL - Saturday night's first annual Pink in the Rink Night proved to be a huge success as the Ice Pilots along with the Santa Rosa Medical Center teamed up to raise $12,221 for the American Cancer Society to benefit breast cancer research and prevention.

"The event exceeded a lot of my expectations," said Mellani Gilbert of the Santa Rosa Medical Center. "I am excited about a bigger and better Pink in the Rink 2 for next season. Cancer is something that has affected all of us and I am truly blessed to be in a community that is so dedicated in the fight against cancer. There is always hope and I do this for the survivors."

The money was raised through the auction of the pink jerseys following the game which included Captain Dan Sullivan's jersey receiving $3,500 in the auction. In addition there were raffles and a silent auction to help the cause.

Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Saturday, January 26 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Gwinnett at the Civic Center. Kids 12 and under can get a free ticket with one paid adult ticket. Group Tickets, Mini Plans, and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office. For more information, or to reserve your seats, call (850) 432-PUCK, or visit the Ice Pilots web site at www.icepilots.com.
